He’s starting to take shape. I was planning to work on this in small increments. Instead, I just stayed up until 6am this morning and resumed working on this at 11am when I woke up.

HOLY *bleep* ON A *bleep*!!! I log on and see a huuuge reception for the first point. Thank you guys and Mr. Mau5 himself.

Now, I’ll have to forgive you guys but I forgot to photograph 2 steps which is bulking the shape with foil (so that you don’t use a crapload of sculpey) and wrapping everything in wire (to create a texture for the sculpey to stick on). Reason is that my nephews (aged 4 and 2) dropped by and they decided to help out. It was nice to have them quietly help me layer on foil/sculpey when they’re usually loud and rowdy. One of them even added the face and made a crab for me.

Project name: Double Tap Dash

The modest beginning of my current maquette project. Got my brother to cut out the base from a plank that came from my old bed frame (that I disassembled years ago).
Using the orthographic drawings that I’ve done, I created a wire armature that will support the sculpy. I’m going to end today’s build session with bulking the rough shapes but I’ve gotta run out an buy some tin foil…

Passion Project #1: Deadmau5 Maquette (United We Fail design)

Now I’m back! From outer space!
Well, not something as cool as that but I did finish another semester of school. Problem is, I don’t have a job right now! To keep me occupied for the next 4 months, I’ve planned to work on a bunch of things that I’ve been brewing in my brain for a year. They consist of 2 music video animatics and 1 maquette. Wish me luck!

Preliminary sketch of the Deadmau5 maquette I’m hoping to sculpt sometime next year. Was thinking of building it now but judging from what I have to do during the holidays, I highly doubt it.
